Jakarta, IO – Children’s happiness in learning is the key to optimal child development. Effective teaching and learning methods are essential to support children’s happiness in learning and developing, according to their interests and talents. Pedagogy, an approach to teaching, ensures students understand the learning context provided through a blended learning method.
“The blended learning method and way of learning prioritize children’s happiness in learning and developing according to their interests and talents,” said the Principal of the Sekolah Murid Merdeka (SMM), Laksmi Mayesti. Laksmi believes that children’s happiness is the key to optimal child development. To instill happiness in learning, SMM offers conceptual and contextual learning and flexibility, which differs from other schools’ ways of teaching and learning.
In SMM, students are provided with a flexible learning process, with an adequate weight of lessons, according to their needs. Students will learn in class, during field trips, visits, as well as virtual tours and discussions. “Students are encouraged to understand the purpose of learning objectives and help them find happiness in learning. Graduation assessment is weighted by practice, with 10 percent shares of theory,” said Laksmi.
