20 Indonesian, Thai Artists collaborates to hold exhibition in Bangkok

Jakarta, IO – As many as 20 well-known artists from Indonesia and Thailand are holding a joint painting exhibition at the National Gallery of Thailand under the theme ‘Blossoming Curiosity’ which will run until October 29.

Rachmat Budiman, the Indonesian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Thailand, said the painting exhibition was a continuation of last year’s event themed “The Bridge of Color”.

“In this exhibition, painters from both countries can jointly express their ideas, creativity and interpretations regarding lifestyle, emotions and ways of thinking as well as the unique culture of the people of both countries which are expressed through various beautiful paintings with their distinctive styles,” said Rachmat, per Kemlu.go.id, Tuesday (10/10).

The Indonesian painters are Bunga Jeruk, Erica Hestu Wahyuni, Galuh Taji Malela, Heri Dono, Jumaldi Alfi, Lucia Hartini, Mola, Putu Sutawijaya, Rendra Santana and Theresia Agustina.

Apart from participating in the painting exhibition, they also held various workshops and discussions in several venues, namely the Bangkok Indonesian School, Bunditpattatasilpa Institute, Silpakorn University, Pohchang Academy and Chulalongkorn University.

It is hoped that the exhibition will open up opportunities for the people from both countries to understand each other’s lifestyles and unique arts and culture while strengthening the people-to-people cooperation between Indonesian and Thai artists. (bp)
