Rendra’s manuscript was categorized as realist because it attempted to portray poverty and social inequality. The audience will see the human side and sensitivity of Rendra, which has been seen since he was young.

“I adapted the script so that it has relevance to the current problems we are facing. This script with the atmosphere of the 1950s, will take place during a pandemic,” said Iwan Burnani.

“Bunga Semerah Darah” will be screened at 19.30 WIB, played by veteran actors and actresses such as Tyo Pakusadewo, Maudy Koesnaedi, Vonny Anggraini, Asrul Dahlan, Adam Syahel and Joind Bayuwinanda. The production was led by Ronny Mepet and the cinematography by Gunung Nusa Pelita.

Iwan Burnani said the theatrical film was made to honor the late Rendra and all members of the Bengkel Theatre who had passed away such as Adi Kurdi, Sunarti Suwandi, Ken Zuraida, Areng Widodo, Radhar Panca Dahana and Lily Suardi. (un)
