Jakarta, IO – The Great Indonesia Movement Party (Gerindra) nominated Prabowo as Indonesia’s presidential candidate on August 13, 2022. Receiving support from Gerindra and PKB, with 23 percent of the seats in the House of Representatives, the two parties are capable of proposing a presidential candidate.
The year 2024 will be the third time for Prabowo to be on the ballot paper contest. Since the Golkar convention in 2004 and the 2009 presidential election, the year 2024 will be Prabowo’s fifth round to run for the presidency; it has been 15 years since Prabowo attempted to become President.
The 2024 election for Prabowo reminds the writer of the two greatest Presidents in the history of the United States: President Lincoln and President Reagan.
They were remembered in history as the greatest US presidents as both knew exactly what they aimed to do as Presidents and succeeded.
Lincoln wanted to end slavery and succeeded. Reagan wished for the glorification of the US economy and also succeeded. Both Lincoln and Reagan, like Prabowo, had an arduous journey to win the presidency. Similar to Prabowo, Lincoln and Reagan were also ridiculed for their failures in win.
