Jakarta, IO – The Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) and the US Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM) held a joint exercise dubbed Gema Bhakti 2022 from September 9-12, 2022.

Adjutant General Hawaii National Guard Maj. Gen. Kenneth Shiro Hara at the opening ceremony at the Ritz Carlton Hotel, Jakarta, on Friday (9/9) said the 10th edition of Gema Bhakti aims to increase the interoperability and capability of TNI and USINDOPACOM personnel as well as to maintain stability and security in the region through bilateral and multilateral partnerships.

“The training will include a series of academic and workshops sessions. Through this exercise, the United States and Indonesia are expected to increase inter-military cooperation, strengthen the Partnership Program with the State of Hawaii, and increase the capabilities of trainees in planning joint operations,” said Hara.

Assistant Chief of Staff Operations Maj. Gen. Agus Suhardi who attended the ceremony said the exercise has important meaning for both countries, especially in realizing Indonesia-US comprehensive and strategic relations.
