Jakarta, IO – After a long wait, it can finally be officially announced that Jogjarockarta Festival will invite two rock giants from faraway lands: Sepultura from Brazil and Overkill from the United States. These two bands will headline the Jogjarockarta Festival, which will be held at the Kridosono Stadium on September 30, 2023.

Imagine the ground shaking and the primal howls of rockerheads from all over Indonesia breaking the air at Kridosono Stadium as Sepultura plays “Refuse/Resist”. As far as the eye could see, a sea of black t-shirts filled the air. The tiredness was still there and my feet were jumping when Overkill started with “Mean, Green, Killing Machine”. Big smiles were everywhere and devil horns were blown all night long.

Earlier, Jogjarockarta Festival had announced Slank feat Bongky and Pay, BIP, and Tribute to Rotor on their Instagram account. However, Jogjarockarta’s Instagram account was hacked a few days after the announcement of the Tribute to Rotor line-up consisting of Sofyan Hadi (Death Vomit), Arif Wahyu (Tumenggung), Ari Kristiono (Detritivor), and Husen (Warhammer).

“For the time being, the Jogjarockarta Festival account has been moved to @jogjarockartafest. Information about Jogjarockarta Fest can also be followed on Rajawali Indonesia’s Instagram account, @rajawaliindonesia,” said Rajawali Indonesia President Director Tovic Raharja.

Unlike previous editions that lasted two days, this year’s Jogjarockarta Festival will be a one-day event. This means that all the excitement, buzz and noise of the Jogjarockarta Festival will be compressed so tightly that the audience won’t have time to relax and catch their breath. The gas pedal is stuck wide open!

As we welcome the Sixth Edition of the Jogjarockarta Festival, there are many special things to come to one of the biggest rock festivals in Indonesia.

First up was the presence of Iron Voltage, the Bandung boys who fly the banner of crossover thrash metal.

The band, consisting of Yowdi (guitar), Edy (vocals), Reyga (guitar), Eka (bass) and Garry (drums), plays music heavily influenced by old school thrash metal, mixing the sound and noise of Metallica and Exodus with the groove riffs of Pantera and the awesomeness of Entombed.

Their name has been on the rise since the release of their Demo 2020 album, which contained three songs, including “Power Mad”. After releasing several singles and appearing on many stages of varying sizes, Iron Voltage finally released their first full-length album, Devastation (2022).
