In the making of the FACE album, Jimin had the full help of other BTS members. In fact, BTS Leader RM contributed to the writing of the synth-pop track “Like Crazy”. By releasing the album, Jimin officially became the fourth BTS member who released solo projects after J-Hope, Jin, and RM.
Jimin became visibly emotional when he revealed what his solo debut album means: “In this album, I look back at myself. I heard that the word “face” has many different meanings. Of course, it has the meaning of the noun, face, but it also means, “to face, to [confront],” as a verb. So in order to stand at this new starting point and begin a new journey, I thought it would be necessary to look back at myself and face myself entirely,” he declared.

The track “Like Crazy” was inspired by Drake Doremus’ 2011 drama with the same title. Jimin admitted that he was “awed” by the depiction of a difficult romance between a British lady and an American man, whose relationship becomes volatile because of visa issues and the demands of their respective careers and social lives. Therefore, he attempted to express the conflicting feelings of the relationship in both song and choreography. (YAS)
