Tokyo, IO – President-elect Prabowo Subianto received congratulatory message personally from Japan Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, during his courtesy visit to Tokyo, Wednesday (3/4).
“I congratulate Your Excellency on his election in the presidential election,” said Kishida.
Kishida said that Prabowo’s visit is very positive as he hoped that Indonesia and Japan can deepen bilateral ties to ensure the Indo-Pacific region remains free and open.
“Japan and Indonesia have been close friends for a long time. I want the two countries to further enhance cooperation as partners who share basic values and principles,” said Kishida.

At the meeting, Prabowo expressed his desire to enhance cooperation with Japan, especially in the industrial and defense sectors.
“The two countries have built good cooperative relations so far, and invite the Japanese government to work together to achieve stronger relations in the future and increase collaboration in the defense sector,” said Prabowo.
