Immigration to prepare special lanes for AIS Summit delegates in Bali

Jakarta, IO – The Bali office of Law and Human Rights Ministry (Kemenkumham) will provide a special lanes to smooth out the immigration process at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport for delegates attending the 2023 Archipelagic and Island States Summit (AIS) Forum.

“There will be at least two counters, manned by eight officers, to implement the special lane,” said the regional head Anggiat Napitupulu, Thursday (5/10/2023).

According to Anggiat, the most crucial task is when the delegation arrives at the International Arrivals Terminal. “While for departure there will be 10 booths with two officers each,” he said. Anggiat added that heads of government/state and ministers will be served in the VIP building.

The Summit will take place at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center (BNDCC), Badung Regency from October 10-11, participated in by 51 countries and attended by nine heads of international organizations, including the Pacific Island Countries Forum (PIF), the Melanesian Cooperation Group (MSG), the Caribbean Community Group of States (CARICOM), the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

Also attending are leaders of intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, including the United Nations (UN), World Bank, International Monetary Fund (IMF), Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and Associations Indian Ocean Coastal Countries (IORA).

The Summit aims to seek concrete solutions related to climate change mitigation, blue economy, mitigating plastic waste in the oceans, and maritime governance. (rr)
