Jakarta, IO – Ascott Limited, the reputable accommodation and serviced residence provider, is committed both to appreciating local businesses and arts, and to expanding its culture of care and hospitality to the local people and neighborhood they interact with every day. This is effected by involving local products and artists in their daily welcoming service of their guests.

As a strategically located serviced residence in Kebon Kacang, in the heart of metropolitan Jakarta, Ascott Jakarta’s guests come from all corners of the country and the world. Therefore, it is only natural that the Hotel has the best opportunity to introduce local products and artists to both an national and international stage through their interactions with these national and international guests. “We are committed to helping local businesses and arts to grow and develop, and furthermore to obtain a place in the hearts of our multinational clientele,” Patrick Legrand, The Ascott Limited Area Manager, affirms.

“The proof is in the pudding,” as they say. Therefore, we need to check…only as far at the Ascott Jakarta lobby. Here you see that they serve the Indonesian herbal drink jamu as their welcome drink, a different one every day. This beverage was chosen both because it is a proud heritage of Indonesian culture, and because it is an excellent supplement that helps maintain one’s health. This is an unapologetic effort to introduce jamu to international clients, and to remind the current generation of national clients of their culinary heritage.

“I am very happy that the Hotel invites me to introduce jamu to both local and foreign guests! By making jamu for these visitors, I get to help people stay healthy and increase sales because they always order more. So it’s a boon for me,” declared Ibu Kiki, the jamu seller at the Ascott Jakarta.

Complementing the strongly Eastern jamu welcome drink is the violin music that fows throughout the lobby every Saturday. “Violin playing is both a pleasure and a profession. My dream has come true, now I get to play my violin to entertain guests from all countries for money for real,” declared Joe, Ascott Jakarta’s resident violinist.

Vanessa Velindra, Ascott Jakarta Marketing & Brand Manager, says, “Supporting local businesses and involving local communities are among the main pillars of the Ascott brand. We are happy to have Ibu Kiki and Mas Joe, who are locals who passed our strict selection process and enhance our property with their service.” (des/ast)
