Jakarta, IO – The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that Jakarta will be lashed by heavy rain as the monsoon season is estimated to last from October to November.
The public is advised to be aware of a number of naturally-occurring phenomenon, including excessive amount of lightning that can strike during heavy rains, CNN Indonesia reported on Wednesday (5/10).
US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said there are several things that must be done to survive from lightning strikes. First, stay at home when the weather forecast says there is likelihood of lightning storm. Upon hearing a thunder, people must immediately take shelter if they happen to be outside. If this is not possible, go to higher ground. People should sit with their heads bent towards their knees and hands covering their ears.
