Jakarta, IO – Finance Ministry Inspectorate General will examine echelon two tax official Rafael Alun Trisambodo. He is the father of Mario Dandy Satriyo, who assaulted David, the son of GP Ansor administrator.

The incident has sparked public outrage who criticized Mario’s ostentatious display of wealth and questions are being asked about the source of his father’s wealth.

Rafael is the general affairs head of South Jakarta Tax Office. According to 2021 State Official Wealth Report (LHKPN), Rafael’s personal wealth is Rp56.1 billion, reported Katadata, Thursday (23/2). The public also wonders why his wealth is only Rp2 billion less than his ultimate boss Finance Minister Sri Mulyani and almost four times as much as that of his direct superior Taxation Director General Suryo Utomo.

Rafael’s wealth even exceeds that of Bank Indonesia Governor Perry Warjiyo, who only has Rp45 billion. Rafael also did not disclose the luxury vehicles that his son often flaunts, a Rubicon jeep and a Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Finance Ministry spokesperson Yustinus Prastowoe said the Inspectorate General would investigate Rafael’s wealth which has increased by a whopping Rp35 billion in just well over a decade.

Prastowo said the Finance Ministry has a mechanism in place to prevent and detect ethics violations, one of which is through the analysis of LHKPN and Taxation and Wealth Reports Application (ALPHA).

“The Finance Ministry condemns the lavish lifestyle and ostentatious display of wealth by the family of one of our employees. This can erode the public trust and create a negative perception toward people working with the Finance Ministry who have continued to work honestly, professionally and with integrity,” Sri Mulyani blasted the incident via her account @smindrawati.
