President Jokowi signs 7 MoUs on visit to China

Jakarta, IO – President Joko Widodo conducted a state visit to China, meeting President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping on Tuesday (26/7) afternoon at Villa 14, Diaoyutai State Guesthouse, Beijing.

According to Foreign Minister Retno LP Marsudi, the two leaders discussed various issues around the region and the world, including G20, ASEAN, to President Jokowi’s efforts to facilitate peaceful solution on Ukraine war and improve the humanitarian situation in the country when he visited Kyiv and Moscow recently.

“As the largest economy in Southeast Asia, Indonesia has an important place for China and the region, especially as Indonesia holds the G20 Presidency this year and ASEAN chairmanship next year,” said Retno.

She continued that in the meeting the two leaders expressed their commitment to strengthen mutually beneficial economic cooperation, including China’s commitment to increase its green economic cooperation through the construction of a Green Industrial Park in North Kalimantan.
