Jakarta, IO – The government is set to move 3,246 state civil apparatus (ASN) to Indonesia’s new administrative capital Nusantara (IKN) in the first phase of the development from July to November 2024.

“The first batch to move will be from 37 ministries/agencies. There are 1,740 residences prepared for them,” said Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Minister Abdullah Azwar Anas, per detikcom, Sat (16/12).

Anas said the relocation is not just physical, but also involves a transformation of work culture and public services. Thus, he has asked each ministry/agency to prepare the necessary human resources according to their respective positions and competencies.

According to him, the move is a strategic step in strengthening public administration and supporting the national development vision. It will also generate momentum for the implementation of effective and efficient governance.

Other improvements include transformation of work culture and streamlining of business processes, digital government, civil service management and improved coordination between different institutions.
