Jakarta, IO – “SPECTACULAR” is the right word for Tiara Andini’s new single, “Ngeluwihi.” You can even say that this is probably one of Andini’s best works to kick off the new year.

Andini is collaborating with South Korean music producer Hyuk Shin, whom she had previously worked with for her other single, “Flip It Up.” “Ngeluwihi” gives the listeners a little touch of a Korean upbeat vibe in its music arrangement.

“Ngeluwihi” is a Javanese word that means “surpassing” or “exceeding.” Andini deliberately chose the word for her new single to express her intention of incorporating her Javanese heritage into her work and presenting a better version of herself.

Although she uses a Javanese word for the title of her new single, the song’s lyrics are almost entirely in English. She includes a snippet of Javanese lyrics at the beginning of the song for a more unique touch to the song.

Tiara also highlights the Javanese vibes in the “Ngeluwihi” cover artwork, where she wears traditional Javanese attire, a collaboration of work between Jember Fashion Carnaval, directed by Bubah Alfian, Lisa Ju, Atara Batik, and Torenda Indonesia.

Tiara’s wardrobe was the work of the designer duo ByAnsoe, while the overall fashion was directed by Rikki Simanjuntakin in collaboration with Tiara Andini herself.

“I wish to present the culture I was born into, the Javanese, and the whole production of the song, the video, and the wardrobe were beyond my expectations, really!” stated Andini.

“Ngeluwihi” tells the story of a person’s breakthrough after being undermined by others. A person’s rise to stand tall and strong and become a better version of themselves. As a result of her collaborative work with Korean music producer Hyuk Shin, the song is highly influenced by the Korean pop genre, with a little touch of hip-hop, rap, R&B, and pop elements. The various musical elements were blended into a skilful mix of the tunes and Tiara’s impressive vocals.

The music video is electrifying! Incorporating her Javanese culture into her English song with Korean pop music arrangements really surpassed Tiara’s previous works and impressed her loyal fans.

Her traditional Javanese attire was absolutely captivating, in addition to the “Gunungan” or “Kayon,” a Javanese puppetry value that takes the form of a cone pointed upwards to symbolize human life.

The “Ngeluwihi” music video was produced by EUIS Studio Production, with Timo as the director and Ade Yason as the producer.

Through this new single, Tiara aims to enrich Indonesian music preferences and aspires to not only reach the Indonesian audience but also Asian fans worldwide.

“I hope everyone can enjoy my song and be more exposed to the Javanese culture portrayed in the video and the song. I also wish that this song might motivate people to always strive to be a better version of themselves,” Tiara concluded. (des/ast)
