Jakarta, IO – Ever hear of RADWIMPS? This well-known Japanese rock band has just announced its first concert in Jakarta, as part of the 2023 RADWIMPS Asian Tour series. Promoted by PK Entertainment and SOZO, RADWIMPS will perform on Sunday, July 30, 2023, at Basket Hall GBK Senayan. Tickets will start selling on Monday, April 10, 2023, at 10 a.m.
RADWIMPS, formed in 2001 and with a major label debut in 2005, has amassed a broad fan base among the younger generation, exploding in size following the success of hit songs such as “Zenzenzense,” “Dream Lantern” and “Sparkle.” RADWIMPS’ musical journey extends beyond Japan, with expansive tours around the world.
The 2023 RADWIMPS Asian Tour series is organized to celebrate the band’s return to international concerts, following the pandemic. The band will kick off their North American tour on April 16 in San Jose, and visit many cities in North America before attacking their European tour in May. American and European concert tickets were sold out so fast that the band had to add additional concerts and move their shows to bigger venues.
RADWIMPS lead vocalist Yojiro Noda exulted “I don’t even know how to express my excitement. It’s been three years, and we’re all three years older. Our music has matured too. I will come to see you as if you’re a lover I was longing to reunite with, so be ready! Can’t wait to see you all in person!”

After the theme songs they composed for “Your Name” in 2016 and “Weathering with You” in 2019, RADWIMPS has collaborated with filmmaker Makoto Shinkai to compose a song for “Suzume”, a film winning the 2023–46th Japan Academy Film Award for Best Music.
“Suzume’’ premiered in Japan on November 11, 2022, and has been at the top of the Japanese box office for three consecutive weeks, grossing over 14.22 billion yen to date. The international film release began on March 2, in Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Macau. Suzume was placed first in Indonesia, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Korea and Vietnam. (dec/ast)
