“France and the Francophone countries are chosen as the LIFEs theme this year because they are the center of thought for Indonesian intellectuals. Apart from that, France is also the center of fashion, and so on. French literature is always referred to by the founding fathers of the republic. We also see an urgency to raise the issue of multiculturalism where we want to see this issue by not emphasizing elements of violence, but from how these artists, writers and thinkers bring out hope,” said Ayu.
