Jakarta, IO – In a joint hearing with the House Committee VII, Wednesday (30/8), PT Pertamina President Director Nicke Widyawati said she would replace Pertalite (RON90) with Pertamax Green (RON92), which is a blend of Pertalite with 7 percent bioethanol, starting next year, per CNNIndonesia, Wednesday (30/8).
According to her, this measure is also in accordance with the regulation issued by the Environment and Forestry Ministry (KLHK), that only fuel with RON91 can be sold in Indonesia.
Not only that, Pertamina will also release Pertamax Green 95 next year. This is a mixture of Pertamax and 8 percent of ethanol.
Nicke emphasized that with the launch of these two new products, Pertamina will only sell three types of fuel, the other one being Pertamax Turbo.

This is deemed positive because it is in line with Pertamina’s commitment to help the government reduce carbon emissions and energy subsidies.
“So this is very good from the environmental aspects. First, we can reduce carbon emissions. Second, we can fulfill the mandatory bioethanol component. Third, we can reduce fuel imports,” said Nicke. (rr)
