Jakarta, IO – PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero), also known as Pelindo, supports micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), ranging from tourist villages and facilitating MSME groups, to participate and include their 12 flagship products fostered by Pelindo in the 2024 Vakantiebeurs Travel Trade and Fair, in Utrecht, Netherlands, from January 10 to 14, 2024.

The Vakantiebeurs is a significant tourism and leisure fair that takes place annually at the Royal Dutch Jaarbeurs Exhibition & Convention Centre in Utrecht, Netherlands. The 2024 Vakantiebeurs is the 54th event held at Jaarbeurs, Utrecht, and has attracted approximately 65,000 visitors from various countries.

Pelindo has been fostering the Penglipuran Village, which was recently selected as one of the “2023 World’s 54 Best Tourist Villages” by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). In addition to fostering villages, Pelindo also promotes numerous flagship MSME craft, food, and beverage products, including Baline Chocolate, Agradaya herbal drinks and Sundanika powdered coffee. MSME crafts supported by Pelindo and exhibited in the fair include Nurvan Kreatif bags, Epeni Gallery silk, Namira Ecoprint, Nara Beads pearls and jewelry, Six Scent aromatherapy, Kirana decorations, Giatja Latucip’s miniature Phinisi boats, and Manika & Maharani accessories.

“Deciding to participate in the fair, Pelindo aims to expand our MSMEs’ international market by promoting Penglipuran Tourist Village and 12 MSMEs’ exceptional products fostered by Pelindo. Our action is in line with Pelindo’s Village Imaging Program and Export Fostering Program, intending to foster villages and export-oriented entrepreneurship,” said Febrianto Zenny, Pelindo’s Head of the Social and Environmental Responsibility Program Department (TJSL).

All the participating MSMEs were facilitated by Pelindo, and included in the large BUMN (State-Owned Enterprises) booth, to promote Indonesian cuisine, culture, and tourism. The event is hoped to increase the number of tourists visiting the country.

“Promoting Penglipuran as one of the world’s best tourist villages at the 2024 Vakantiebeurs is the right thing to do, as this forum serves as a platform for European tourism industries and businesses. This can attract more European tourists to visit Indonesia,” explained Febrianto.

Indonesian Ambassador Mayerfas Deputy Ambassador Freddy Martin Panggabean, along with the Indonesian Embassy team for the Kingdom of the Netherlands, visited the Pelindo and BUMN booths on the first and second days of the exhibition. Pelindo offered several samples of products from fostered partners, such as herbal drinks, woven bags, coffee, chocolate, ecoprint fabric, and a replica of the Phinisi Wooden Ship. (des/ast)
