Jakarta, IO – The 2023 FIBA World Cup, a world-class basketball competition, will take place in Indonesia, one of the hosting countries, along with The Philippines and Japan. The Indonesia Arena at the Gelora Bung Karno complex in Senayan, Jakarta, will host two preliminary round championship groups, G and H, while four other groups will meet in Manila, Philippines, and two more will meet in Okinawa, Japan. The preliminary rounds of the FIBA World Cup 2023 are scheduled from August 23 to September 3; the following rounds will take place in the Philippines, with the final round on September 10.
Group G consists of Iran, Spain, the Ivory Coast and Brazil, while Group H includes Canada, Latvia, Lebanon, and France.
Indonesian artist Maria Selena, also Miss Indonesia 2011, is a basketball enthusiast who has even registered as a professional athlete. She is also very excited to welcome the 2023 FIBA World Cup by booking tickets for her favorite teams, Spain and Brazil.
“I have tickets for the Spanish and French matches, both strong European teams and legacy world champions,” Maria said after her basketball game with the Happy Ballers team, which consists of her along with fellow celebrities, at the 20th-anniversary Indonesian Basketball League celebration on Sunday, June 24, at Mall Kasablanka in Jakarta.
Maria vouched for Spain as the champion. “Spain is a strong team that can win the world championship, but it is also possible for France to win,” she said.

“We are very lucky to witness world basketball stars playing in Jakarta at the 2023 FIBA World Cup,” said the woman, who was born on September 24, 1990, in Palembang.
According to Selena, this event will motivate young Indonesian basketball players and benefit the basketball sports industry in Indonesia. “The world will look at Indonesia’s success in holding this championship and it will positively impact sponsors’ efforts to promote Indonesia’s sporting events,” he explained.
