Jakarta, IO – Jonatan “Jojo” Christie has once again made Indonesia proud on the global badminton stage. He just won the men’s single Badminton Asia Championships (BAC) in China, Sunday (14/4).
Jonatan managed to defeat Chinese player Li Shi Feng with two straight games 21-15 and 21-16 in 54 minutes at the Ningbo Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium. Jonatan also broke a personal record as this was his first win at BAC, per CNN Indonesia on Monday (15/4).
The victory come on the heels of the world’s fifth best player’s triumph at the All England 2024 last month.

“I didn’t expect to win so soon after the All England and it could be a booster for me personally so that, going forward, I can be more consistent and better in terms of performance and everything,” said Jojo.
His win also saved Indonesia’s reputation in the tournament after the losses of the country’s other top players in the semifinals. (un)
