According to a report by Tempo, citing an unidentified minister in Jokowi administration, the lobbying for JETP fund has been conducted intensively since last April. The team led by Coordinating Maritime Affairs and Investment Minister has met with the U.S. Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry.
The U.S. urged Indonesia to shut all its PLTUs by 2030. However, Indonesia said it did not have the funds needed to implement it, so it will be done gradually.

As for the funding scheme, the same source said there is yet to be confirmation regarding the portion that Indonesia would receive, whether it will be in the form of grants or debt. “We hope it will be a grant,” said the source. (rr)
