Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry’s New, Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation Director General Dadan Kusdiana explained that to qualify for conversion, the motorcycle must be less than 10 years old, reported CNBC Indonesia, Wdnesday (1/2).
Furthermore, they must have a capacity between 100 to 125 cc. With this capacity, they can be fitted with 3 to 5kW electric motors. The converted motorcycles will also be equipped with 1.2 to 1.5kWh lithium battery. Dadan also explained that everyone is eligible for the conversion program because the goal is to accelerate the transition to electric vehicles to reduce emissions.
