Jakarta, IO – A number of innovations have been created to answer the world’s demands for sustainability and low emissions. Industries must make meaningful changes for a more sustainable green industry. In Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) at the 27th UN climate conference (COP27), Indonesia stated its commitment to solely increase the effort in reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 31.89 percent, or 43.20 percent should the country receive international support.

To demonstrate this commitment, the Indonesian government encourages various sectors to adopt environmentally-friendly concepts in their activities and policies. One of the efforts would be transitioning energy from fossil to sustainable and renewable energy. The Indonesian government has designed an energy transition plan through the National Energy General Plan (RUEN) since 2017. The government is targeting to apply 23 percent of the national energy mix by 2025 and increase it by 31 percent in 2050.

Responding to these challenges, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek), through the Directorate General of Higher Education, Research and Technology (Ditjen Diktiristek), presented the Kedaireka platform, to facilitate innovative collaboration between universities and Indonesia’s industrial world.

Through Kedaireka, the Directorate General of Higher Education and Technology presented the second RekaTalks program, held on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at SwissBelhotel Tuban, Kuta, Bali.
