Jakarta, IO – In the last few weeks, the rumour of a cabinet reshuffle has sparked public interest. In response to the anticipation, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo simply asked the public to wait.
“Just wait,” Jokowi replied when asked by a reported during his visit to inspect the Ciliwung river normalization project, reported Bisnis Indonesia, Tuesday (24/1).
Even though he was frequently asked about the reshuffle, Jokowi is reluctant to reveal which minister(s) he is going to drop from his cabinet. During his visit to Tanah Abang Market recently, Jokowi also gave the same response.
Based on historical record, Jokowi usually reshuffles his cabinet on a “sacred” date, namely Wednesday Pon (according to Javanese calendar). If that prediction is accurate, then that date would fall on February 1.
However, Jokowi also reshuffled his cabinet several times on Wednesday Pahing. Many predicted that Communications and Information Minister Johnny G Plate of NasDem Party will be let go.

However, no one can say for sure as cabinet reshuffle is the prerogative of the president, so no one is allowed to interfere.
