Jakarta, IO – The Umrah and Hajj Travel Association (SATHU) accused the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MORA) of violating Law 8/2018 on the Implementation of Hajj and Umrah. They protested against the number of special hajj quotas decided by the ministry through Religion Affairs Minister Decree (KMA) 405/2022.
“The Hajj Law regulates a special hajj quota of at least 8%. However, the decree only provides a special hajj quota for 7,226 people or about 7.3% this year. This is a clear violation of the provisions stipulated by Law 8/2018,” SATHU secretary general Artha Hanief told CNN Indonesia on Saturday (30/4).
They also sent a petition to the Religious Affairs Minister Yaqut Cholil Qoumas on April 29, 2022.
