Clowns entertain child victims of Gembrong market fire

Jakarta, IO – Aku Badut Indonesia (ABI), a clown community, entertained children at the Gembrong market, East Jakarta, Friday (29/4). They aimed to provide relief to children traumatized by fire that razed the area on Sunday (24/4) at around 9pm, destroying some 400 buildings. The incident was thought to have been caused by an electrical short circuit in one of the residents’ houses.

The children are now forced to live in temporary shelter with makeshift facilities. They seemed overjoyed and entertained by the presence of the clowns who performed various attractions, inviting them to play together and giving out gifts. (Aslam Iqbal)
