IO, Jakarta – Massive action took place in Jakarta on May 21-22 2019. The masses poured out to the streets because they rejected the fraudulent election results, and at the same time, more than 600 KPPS officers, Supervisory Committee and Police have died.  After the mass action, Wiranto gave a press statement.

In connection with the mass action, Coordinating Minister for Politics, Law and Security Wiranto said the Government would temporarily limit features on social media.  “Access to social media will be turned off to keep negative things from spreading in the community – such as hoaxes and provocations,” Wiranto said at a press conference at the Coordinating Minister for Politics and Security Office on Wednesday, May 22, 2019. Wiranto said the government wanted to protect the public from hoaxes and confusing information.

He said the Coordinating Ministry of Politics and Security will routinely provide up-to-date information about the conditions in Jakarta.  “We will submit progress every two hours,” Wiranto said. (dsy)
