Jakarta, IO – Thousands of people took part in a peaceful demonstration to support Palestine in the National Monument (Monas) area, Jakarta, Sunday (5/11). The protesters, comprising members of the Indonesian People’s Alliance to Defend Palestine, began streaming into the protest venue since early morning. They brought various attributes such as posters, scarves and flags to denounce the humanitarian tragedy that has claimed thousands of lives in Gaza due to Israeli brutal attacks.
In this action, they expressed its stance demanding that the war be ended immediately, and that an international investigation into Israel’s war crime and crimes against humanity be brought to the International Court of Justice. For the sake of humanity, peace and justice, the protesters strongly opposes Israel’s occupation of Palestine and strongly condemns the politics of apartheid, genocide, holocaust and terrorism carried out by the Jewish state.

They also urged the governments of Islamic and Arab countries to cancel diplomatic relations, and/or not to open diplomatic relations with Israel until the Palestinian state is independent, sovereign and established.
