Jakarta, IO – State-run railway company KAI responded to viral news concerning leaks in a number of ceilings at bullet train Whoosh’s Halim station and LRT’s Cawang station, East Jakarta, Saturday (4/11).

KAI spokesperson Joni Martinus admitted that the leak occurred due to high rainfall. However, he ensured that it did not disrupt the service, per Tirto, Monday (6/11).

The company has coordinated with the stations’ contractors Adhi Karya and Wika and several steps to repair the ceiling have been taken.

“Furthermore, the relevant parties immediately carried out investigations and repaired the affected areas to ensure the convenience of the passengers,” he explained.

Joni said that Adhi Karya and Wika have started making repairs to the station’s water channels which were affected by heavy rain. This is expected to be completed soon.
