Jakarta, IO – Officers are ready to deliver humanitarian aid to Palestine and Sudan at Halim Perdanakusuma AFB, Jakarta, Wednesday (3/4). The assistance package worth US$1 million (Rp30 billion) consists of medicines, medical devices, antibacterials and nutritional food expected to ease the burden of survivors.
The handover ceremony was personally attended by President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo who was accompanied by several cabinet ministers. The assistance is part of Indonesia’s commitment to support countries facing difficulties, with a focus on humanitarian assistance efforts. The aid sent was also tailored to requests from Palestinians who had taken refuge in Egypt and residents in Sudan who were experiencing a crisis. Previously, Indonesia sent parachutes to support the delivery of aid by airdrop via Jordan.

Meanwhile, other aid sent by land by the Indonesian government, people and non-governmental organizations has reached more than 4,400 tons, showing the country’s strong commitment to providing support for those in need.
