Jakarta, IO – Residents queue to exchange new banknotes at the integrated mobile service provided by Bank Indonesia (BI) and other commercial banks at Istora Senayan, Jakarta (29/3). BI also is again holding a cash exchange program to welcome the Eid al-Fitr 2024.

This year, BI officially increased the amount of cash that can be exchanged by the public to Rp4 million, from previously Rp3.8 million, to ensure that people can exchange their old banknotes easily. BI will implement a package system for per person per day. Thus, one person can only exchange a maximum of Rp4 million in cash per day. If they need more, they have to do it again the next day.

Every day, BI opens a daily quota for 5,000 people and registration can be done via the PINTAR application. However, BI will still serve people who come to Istora without registering via the application as long as there is still supply.
