Jakarta, IO – Workers clean the Dirgantara Statue Monument, popularly known as Pancoran Statue, on Jalan Gatot Subroto, Pancoran, Jakarta, (17/10).
The Jakarta Provincial Administration is currently carrying out maintenance work on the statue which has not been cleaned since 2014. The authority expects to complete it by the end of November.
This is in accordance with the mandate of Law 11/2010 on Cultural Heritage. This maintenance is important because several factors, such as pollution, humidity, temperature fluctuations, light, and algae growth, have caused corrosion of the statue and its pillars, causing the color to fade.
