Jakarta, IO – Gerindra Party chairman Prabowo Subianto stated that he is ready if he is asked to become a presidential candidate. Prabowo considers it to be a sacred duty that must be carried out.
He conveyed this when registering his party with the General Elections Commission (KPU) to participate in the 2024 elections on Monday (8/8).
Prabowo explained that his candidacy would need to wait for the resolution of Gerindra’s party conference to be held on August 12-13. One of the much-anticipated agenda is his confirmation of his nomination by party cadres to run in the upcoming presidential election.
“We will see the results of the national leaders meeting, but if I am given the mandate, I would consider it a sacred duty to serve the people. I must accept it well,” Prabowo said, according to KPU’s YouTube broadcast, Tuesday (9/8).
