Police Arrest Man Who Insults Prophet Muhammad and Asks Israel to Slaughter Indonesian Citizens in Palestine

Jakarta, IO – Lukman Dolok Saribu, a resident of Sorong City, West Papua, was arrested near Lake Toba, North Sumatra on Sunday (26/11). The 57-year-old man allegedly created a video to spread hate speech, said North Sumatra Police spokesperson Commissioner Hadi Wahyudi, per Detikcom, Mon (27/11).

So far, the police have yet to provide further details about the case. The culprit is still being questioned.

Police was alerted to the video by North Sumatra Ansor Youth Movement (GP Ansor), the youth wing of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) deputy chair Dedi Hermanto Sitorus on Sunday (26/11). NU is Indonesia’s largest Islamic organization.
“The content contains hate speech of sensitive topic, please do not share it,” he appealed.

According to Dedi, the perp filmed himself insulting Prophet Muhammad and asked Israel to kill Indonesian citizens in Palestine and launch an air strike on Jakarta. The video has gone viral on social media. (un)
