Jakarta, IO – Police arrested a Malaysian network methamphetamine drug trafficker identified as AR (34) on Jalan Lintas Sumatra, Perlompongan village, Air Batu district, Asahan regency, North Sumatra, Saturday (27/1).
Tebing Tinggi Police Chief AKBP Andreas Tampubolon said that 10 kilograms of methamphetamine and 30,000 ecstasy pills were impounded from the perpetrator.
“The arrest began with information that AR, a resident of Riau, is also a shabu courier for the Malaysian network. From surveillance, it was indicated that AR would carry out a drug transaction at the location of the arrest on Saturday,” said Andreas, per Kompas, Wed (31/1).

The police then investigated this case and saw the perpetrator’s silver Daihatsu Xenia car at a restaurant. AR was then arrested and his car was searched. “After a search, officers managed to find 10 golden brown plastic wrappers, containing methamphetamine-type narcotics weighing around 10 kilograms and 6 transparent plastic wrappers, containing around 30,000 ecstasy pills,” said Andreas.
