He admitted that it is untoward for a DPRD chairman for not remembering the Pancasila text.
“On this occasion, before this honorable council, I sincerely regret my action and am tending my resignation from the chairmanship of Lumajang DPRD. For that, I deeply apologize to the people of Lumajang, members of the Lumajang DPRD, Lumajang regency administration and all members of the public. The commotion needs to end immediately; and to our fellow students, please continue to be a reminder for all of us,” he said.
When interviewed after the plenary meeting, Anang said he resigned because he loves Nahdlatul Ulama central executive board (PBNU), Pancasila, the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI), and the 1945 Constitution.
