Jakarta, IO – Lumajang Regional Legislative Council (DPRD) chairman Anang Ahmad Syaifuddin has been the subject of conversation on social media because he has resigned from his position after a clip of him failing to recite the text of state ideology Pancasila went viral.
“I, chairman of Lumajang DPRD, would like to clarify and apologize to all Lumajang people, especially members of this council, for my failure to memorize Pancasila text,” said Ahmad Syaifuddin before the council’s plenary session on Monday (12/9).
The National Awakening Party (PKB) politician said his decision to resign was to protect the reputation of Lumajang DPRD and to serve as a lesson for anyone in leadership position, Suara reported on Tuesday (13/9).
