Jakarta, IO – Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi said the operation of the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway (HSR) will be carried out in stages starting with a soft launching on October 1.
Budi said the initial operation would start with eight trips. Travel intensity will increase in the following months, per Viva, Tuesday (5/9).
“In November it will increase to 28 trips, in December there will be 40 trips, and 68 trips by January 2024,” said Budi.
Budi said that the bullet train will cut the travel time between the two cities to just around 50 minutes. He proved this during the trial last weekend.
Budi rode the train from Halim Station to Padalarang Station with a travel time of around 30 minutes. Then another 20 minutes from Padalarang to Bandung Station.

Budi also ensured that a number of developments were being carried out to optimize train travel, such as the construction of skybridges at several stations.
“Everything is targeted to be completed by 2023,” he said. (un)
