Body parts found on Balinese coast

Jakarta, IO – Karangasem Police confirmed the discovery of human feet, heart, liver and intestines at Yeh Malet Beach, Antiga Kelod village. However, it is not yet known exactly where the organs came from because there were no reports of missing persons.

“From the results of the examination by forensic doctors at Prof. Ngoerah Hospital, it is true that it is a piece of human organ, but we have not received official information from the hospital,” said Karangasem Police Chief Ricko A.A. Taruna Ricko, per Detikcom, Tuesday (5/9).

Ricko said police is still investigating the origin of the body parts and has yet to find out whether it was cause by mutilation, malpractice or an accident at sea. He appealed to residents to immediately report if they have family member or relative who have gone missing to help police in the investigation.

The body parts were found by a fisherman named Sutawan, 28, on Saturday (2/9) at around 10pm WITA. He was out fishing at the coast at that time. From afar, he mistook the organ for fish. However, upon closer look it turned out to be a human leg. The other organs were found not far from the same location. (bp)
