Indikator: Prabowo’s electability continues to climb, Anies stagnates, Ganjar falls

Jakarta, IO – The electability of presidential candidate No 2, Prabowo Subianto, is consistently at the top in the latest survey conducted by the Indikator Politik Indonesia, the result of which was announced Thursday (18/1).

“Prabowo is consistently and significantly ahead compared to the other two contenders,” said Indikator executive director Burhanuddin Muhtadi.

In the survey, Prabowo gained 45.2e percent, 20 percentage points higher than candidate No 1 Anies Baswedan (25.29 percent) and No 3 Ganjar Pranowo (22.55 percent). Burhanuddin said this trend has been observed in the past three months.

In October 2023, Prabowo’s stood at 37 percent, only slightly ahead of Ganjar. However, at the end of the same month, his electability trend continued to accelerate, leaving behind the two candidates. “Ganjar has seen his electability down significantly as a result,” said Burhanuddin.

Prabowo’s electability rose steadily to 40.6 percent in early November 2023, then 44.9 percent at the end of the same month. Meanwhile, Anies’ electability tends to be stagnant at around 21 to 25 percent while Ganjar’s declined sharply from 35.5 percent to 22.5 percent.

The survey was conducted from December 30, 2023 to January 6, 2024, participated in by 4,560 respondents.
