Candra Wijaya, as the championship’s initiator, expressed his delight in developing the Yonex-Sunrise Doubles Special Championship 2023, which has been held since 2009. According to him, organizing the doubles tournament is crucial to developing badminton, as Indonesia has always put its badminton strength in the doubles category in many international championships.

“The doubles category has always been a cornerstone for the success of Indonesian badminton. It is our shared responsibility to nurture potential young players in the future, as maintaining achievements is more difficult than obtaining them,” said Candra. (rp)
