Jakarta, IO – The city of Solo concluded the Trophy Tour of the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup on Sunday, November 5th, marking Indonesia’s preparation for hosting the FIFA U-17 World Cup, from November 10th to December 2nd.

“On behalf of the people of Solo, I would like to assure you that we are ready to hold the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup, which will consist of the preliminary, semifinals, and final rounds at Manahan Stadium. We will not betray Mr. Erick’s trust, as Chairman of PSSI and the central government, in drawing global football attention to Solo,” declared Gibran Rakabuming Raka, Mayor of Solo.

Gibran and PSSI Chairman Erick Thohir joined the FIFA U-17 World Cup Trophy Experience parade, along with thousands of Surakarta residents crowding the streets from Sriwedari Stadium to the Mangkunegaraan Palace area.

Enthusiastic about the trophy’s arrival in Solo, Kanjeng Gusti Mangkoenegara X and Acting Governor of Central Java, Nana Sudjana officially welcomed the parade at the Ngapuro Gate, symbolizing Solo’s anticipation toward the event, which will involve 24 countries.

“It is such a pride for the Solo and its people to host the football World Cup. We will remember this event, as a way to best serve our guests and the arriving teams,” said Kanjeng Gusti Mangkoenegara X.

“Central Java is ready to play a significant role in winning the FIFA U-17 World Cup. We have made every effort to ensure all activities will run smoothly. The success of Solo also represents the success of Central Java,” Nana stated.

Local people had the opportunity to get a closer look and take photos with the FIFA U-17 World Cup trophy, displayed at the Mangkunegaraan Palace, in front of the Kavallerie Artillerie Building.
