Jakarta, IO – Germany defeated France 4-3 in penalty shootout and grabbed the title for the first time at Solo’s Manahan Stadium, Sat (2/12) evening.
The final match of the world championship for male players under the age of 17 was interesting from the first minute with fast attacks, counter attacks and robust defense. In the first half, Germany U-17 dominated the match.
The young Panzer team was even able to take the lead through a penalty goal scored by Paris Brunner in the 29th minute and Noah Darvich’s shot in the 51st minute. However, not long after, in the 53rd minute France was able to narrow the position to 1-2 through Saimon Bouabre’s goal.
The narrow score of 2-1 made the tension of the match shot up. France, who needed a goal to equalize, continued to launch attacks. In the 68th minute, Germany had to play with 10 men after Winners Osawe received a second yellow card.

France tried to take advantage of their superior number of players by playing more aggressively. France’s attempt to equalize the score was finally created in the 84th minute. Amougou scored from a righthand cross by Tidiam Gomis from the right side of the field. Until the second half ended, the score was tied at 2-2 which meant the winner had to be decided through a penalty shootout.
