From Ancient Forts to National Parks, here are Tourist Destinations on Java Southern Coast

Jakarta, IO – Indonesia is blessed with abundance of tourist destinations in almost all regions. Even when people want to visit a city more than hundreds of kilometers away by land, stopping by a number of tourist attractions in the area they are passing through can be an alternative to unwind.

One of the popular destinations can be found along the Java Southern Coast. People who travel through this route can visit a number of scenic locations.

According to Kemenparekraf.go.id, Thursday (20/4), Tanjung Layar Beach in Banten is one that must be visited places.

Located in Sawarna Village, Bayah, Lebak, the beach features surging waves of the South Sea, crashing dramatically against the rocky hills. It becomes more picturesque at dusk when the sky os tinged with golden red hue against a backdrop of coral rocks.

Then there is Fort Van Der Wijck in Bandung. This fort is a Dutch colonial heritage that was built in the 18th century. Unlike other Dutch forts, this fort is made of red bricks which gives it a particular aesthetic.

Apart from enjoying the beauty of the architecture, the public can also enjoy a variety of local delicacies from Bandung nearby. This fort is also child-friendly because it is equipped with rides such as swan boats, cars, windmills, and mini trains.

Another tourist destination that should not be missed is Prambanan Temple. This popular tourist location in Yogyakarta is the largest Hindu temple complex in the world, and has been designated as a World Cultural Heritage (World Heritage) by UNESCO.

Located at the tip of Java Island, Alas Purwo National Park in Banyuwangi is an interesting location to visit. Covering 43,000 hectares, it offers various attractions such as Sabana Sadengan, Pancur Beach, Palace Cave, Pura Giri Selaka, bamboo forest and mangrove forest. (un)
