Kartini Beach
Kartini Beach is one of the popular tourist attractions in Jepara Regency. This beach is a place where Kartini used to play around as well as a place for Kartini’s family and relatives to rest and unwind. The beach is named Kartini to commemorate her contributions to women’s emancipation. The icon of Kartini Beach is Kura-Kura Ocean Park, which is in the shape of a giant turtle. You can also see a giant aquarium featuring a collection of marine animals, such as sharks, hawksbill turtles, rays, snappers, groupers, pufferfish, and many others.

Ari-ari Kartini Monument
You can also commemorate Kartini’s birth by visiting the Ari-ari Kartini Monument in Pelemkerep village, Mayong, Jepara. This monument houses Kartini’s umbilical cord which was cut when she was born. It is often buried in the ground according to Javanese custom. Previously, it was the Kartini family’s residence. The monument was built in 1979. It resembles a lotus flower which signifies birth. The lotus flower has 21 buds which represents the date of her birth.

Kartini Museum in Rembang
Other than Jepara, RA Kartini Museum is also located in Rembang. After she was married to Rembang Regent RM Djojohadhiningrat, she moved there to live with her husband. So, some traces of Kartini’s life can be found in this city situated on the north coast of Central Java. This museum contains objects left by Kartini when she lived there and other relics such as household items, dining tables and family photos.
