The International Watercolor Exhibition was first held by IWS Indonesia in 2015. Most of the paintings are themed around nature and Indonesian culture. Efix Mulyadi, the curator, explained that despite the common objects like Borobudur, Tanah Lot, Legong dancers, shadow puppets, scenes of traditional market, flamboyan (Delonix regia) tree, mountains, rivers, and Ngaben ceremony, each work has their own uniqueness as they reflect the artist’s signature style.
