Jakarta, IO – Confidential Assignment 2: International successfully surpassed 6 million patrons after 26 days of screening in South Korean cinemas. The Korean Film Council said the achievement has bumped Lee Suk Hoon’s third Korean film up to go beyond 6 million moviegoers after “The Roundup” and «Hansan: Rising Dragon.»
The film was also predicted to rank among the big five Korean box office this year. The prequel, Confidential Assignment, was also South Korea’s third highest-grossing film in 2017, following “A Taxi Driver” and «Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds.»
As a sequel, the film’s leading actors, Hyun Bin, Yoo Hae-jin, and Lim Yoona reprise their previous roles. “Confidential Assignment 2: International” revolves around North Korean detective Rim Chul Ryung (Hyun Bin) being sent back to South Korea to catch Jang Myeongjun (Jin Sun-kyu), the leader of a North Korean criminal organization.
