Jokowi invites Germany to increase investment in hi-tech sector

Jakarta, IO – President Joko Widodo invited Germany to increase its investment in the high-tech sector in Indonesia. This was conveyed when he received an honorary visit from the President of the Federal Republic of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier at the Bogor Palace, Thursday (16/6).

Jokowi explained that the investment in the high-tech sector includes the electric vehicle (EV) industry, which Indonesia is developing from upstream to downstream.

“I invite German industry players to build semi-conductor plants in Indonesia and make this industry part of the global chip supply chain and to invest in green industrial areas in Indonesia,” Jokowi said, as reported by CNN Indonesia, Thursday (16/6).
