Jakarta, IO – The scene of shuttered shops in Tanah Abang Market Block A, Jakarta. The traders complained about the lack of buyers in the largest textile and garment market in Southeast Asia.
They even said that there were more traders than buyers at any given day. Some traders admitted that their sales had dropped by as much as 80 percent due to the proliferation of e-commerce platforms.

This is supported by sophisticated technology that makes shopping easier for people. To work around the situation, several traders at the market tried to adapt by selling via live streaming or giving out significant discounts.
